With over 15 years of experience in counseling-related work, including 10 years with a successful private practice in Washington, DC, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my counseling clients. Originally from the United States, I have also lived in France, Canada, and now Germany.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the District of Columbia, as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University in Maryland. I follow the Standards of Ethics for Counseling held by the National Board for Certified Counselors.
Through on-going post-graduate education and training, I stay current with the latest research in the fields of psychotherapy and counseling in order to provide my clients with the best possible care.
Along with intensive clinical training in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapies, I have received training in sandtray therapy, creative arts interventions, dream work, relaxation exercises, grounding techniques, mindfulness, meditation, and guided imagery. I work collaboratively with my clients, and I tailor my work to respond to the individual needs and wants of each of my clients within their unique life contexts.
