Women's Topics

Through counseling and consultation, I help women navigate the challenges and joys of the various seasons of life:

  • fertility, pregnancy, miscarriage

  • friendships & intimate relationships

  • motherhood and changing roles

  • family dynamics, separation, divorce

  • work-life balance

  • illness, grief, loss

  • body image and identity

  • aging

Throughout the varied seasons of their lives, women enter counseling. Some women may wish to discuss a long-standing problem they haven’t been able to resolve on their own or with the help of friends or family. Others may seek support as they navigate a crisis in their personal or private lives. Still others may wish to set aside a day and time each week to focus on reconnecting with themselves and getting more in touch with their genuine wants and needs. All women are welcome here.

Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of working with many, many women at various life stages. Having been in private practice in Washington, DC, for over 10 years, I had the opportunity to work with women from across the globe who came to the U.S. capital for work, education, or family. The following is a list of issues I have addressed with women in counseling:

  • family planning, fertility, pregnancy, ante-partum depression, miscarriage, abortion

  • motherhood, caring for an infant, breastfeeding, post-partum depression

  • sexuality, gender identity, intimate relationships, friendships, stress, work-life balance, body image, changing roles, life transitions, separation/divorce, aging, grief and loss, menopause

  • menstrual cycle complications, PMS, endometriosis, breast cancer

  • depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, self-harming behavior, trauma.

In my work with women, I take into account that certain biological, environmental, and psychosocial issues related to gender may be impacting their mental health and well-being.
